L. Sprague de Camp

L. Sprague de Camp, born as Lyon Sprague de Camp on November 27, 1907, was an American writer known for his works in various occupations such as novelist, historian, journalist, and officer in the armed forces. He was born in New York City and held citizenship in the United States. L. Sprague de Camp passed away on November 6, 2000 in Plano, Texas.

De Camp was educated at the California Institute of Technology and Stevens Institute of Technology. Throughout his career, he used several pseudonyms, such as J. Wellington Wells, J. Wellington, and Lymen R. Lyon.
