The name Lacalut is derived from the name of the major active ingredient of the company's toothpaste, aluminum lactate. Lacalut was originally produced by Anasco GmbH Wiesbaden. In 2000, it was sold to Dr. Theiss. The brand's products are available for sale in about sixty countries around the world.
In 2022, the company began sales in Russia of a line of children's toothpaste. In 2023, the company expanded its line of Lacalut Basic toothpaste, which include Gum, Sensitive, White, and Kids toothpaste. The company also launched LACALUT ® aktiv plus and LACALUT, white pastes made with micellar water.
