Lars von Trier, born Lars Trier on April 30, 1956 , is a Danish film director, screenwriter, cinematographer, and film producer . He was born in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark , and studied at the National Film School of Denmark . Von Trier is the founder of film production company Zentropa and is known for creating the film movement Dogme 95 .
