From there, it was a natural step to Planned Parenthood in 2014, an institution that has made healthcare more accessible to people from all communities. She would serve as the CEO of Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri and Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY). Her role was challenging and required her to rethink the organization on a fundamental level.
From the media to the Board of Directors, Laura had to factor in interests, opinions, and goals from all sides of the organization. Throughout her tenure, she devised, implemented, and managed a strategic vision that encompassed staff, volunteers, and patients alike. These are the people that lie at the heart of Planned Parenthood, and the ones who deserve to be front and center in her plans.
As a born leader who honed her skills over time, Laura knows the value of cooperation and compromise. While working in the midwest, she was at the helm of two major mergers with Planned Parenthood affiliates. Her efforts successfully doubled the size of the affiliate's patient base and operating budget. She was also able to introduce primary care to patients, which improved access to services and put an emphasis on patient health. She was also instrumental in building a network of donors, securing gifts of up to seven-figures for Planned Parenthood.

Laura was named one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in New York by Crain in 2019 and made the inaugural Women Power 100 list from the City & State New York in 2018.
