Le Labo is not just the name of a fashionable perfume brand, it is the name of a brand that has made a real revolution in the world of high perfumery. This revolutionary brand was born in America.
History.
Le Labo was created by Europeans Eddie Roschi and Fabrice Penot in New York in 2006. By that time, they had worked for a long time in the marketing department of Giorgio Armani Fragrances, which belongs to the L'Oréal concern. Apparently, it was the collaboration with Armani that brought these two talents together, who later discovered that they had common views on what is called perfumery, and what they consider to be their life's work and true art. As a result, a new perfume brand, Le Labo, appeared in New York, which excited the entire perfume world.
Over the 13 years of the brand's existence (the perfume company was founded in 2006), the brand has released only 16 fragrances, each of which is framed in a concise, almost pharmacy-like package.
It was the signature minimalism of the design that made the perfume one of the most recognizable: glass jars and flasks with a black and white label are perhaps the most stylish solution to date.
City exclusive samples from New York-based fragrance brand Le Labo are now available for a limited time through August and September. Each of these 7 fragrances is available only in the boutique of the city to which it is dedicated and nowhere else.
The fragrances selected are as follows: Cedrat 37 for Berlin, Gaiac 10 for Tokyo, Mousse de Chene 30 for Amsterdam, Vanille 44 for Paris, and Tabac 28 for Miami.
A unisex fragrance that captures a defining image of the spirit of the American West and personal freedom.
The unisex line is represented by the delicate and spicy, fruity-musky perfume Ambrette 9 Le Labo; rich east - spicy with animal - musky aroma of Labdanum 18 Le Labo; flawless and perfect perfume Le Labo Another 13. Choose the fragrances that you like, mix special concentrates, dilute with alcohol and that's it - your individual perfume is ready. The label "Lana: souvenir de New York" will be glued on the bottle, confirming the authenticity of the fragrance.
The creators of the Le Labo brand despise mass marketing, therefore they refuse, for example, to trade on the days of the start of sales - they simply close the doors of the store on that day. In their opinion, the world should not turn into a supermarket, where you only need to reach out your hand to pull the desired fragrance off the shelf.
Location.
The first store opened on Elizabeth Street in New York City's Nolita neighborhood. The brand has individual boutiques and department store counters in countries and regions including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Hong Kong, UAE, Kuwait, Japan, Taiwan, Russia, South Korea, Thailand and Australia.
Why is Le Labo so popular?
It's easy to see why the brand has become so popular; each of the fragrances are layered with an intoxicating medley of notes and since they're oil-based, one spritz can last you all day. I know they can be pricey, but in my opinion, the cost-per-wear makes it well worth the spend.
Senior Editor Hallie Gould loves this vegan and cruelty-free fragrance from cult-favorite brand Le Labo.
It lasts so long because it's not a traditional perfume that's formulated with a base of alcohol. Instead, it's an oil. It sinks into the skin and stays put all day long.
Le Labo was acquired by Estée Lauder Companies in 2014. The brand is currently controlled by group president Estée Lauder, John Demsey, along with other fragrance brands including Jo Malone and Tom Ford.
