Lead Belly, born Huddie William Ledbetter on January 20, 1888, in Louisiana(20 1 1888), was a musician and songwriter known for his work in country music and folk music. In addition to playing the guitar, he also performed as a street artist and musician. Lead Belly had various nicknames, including Leadbelly, and used pseudonyms such as Walter Boyd. He was a citizen of the United States.
Lead Belly's notable work includes "The Midnight Special and Other Southern Prison Songs". He was involved in the music industry as a songwriter and musician, contributing to the development of both country and folk music. Lead Belly passed away on December 6, 1949, in New York City(6 12 1949).
