"Leningrad" (full name - "Group Leningrad" ) is a Russian musical group from St. Petersburg , created by Sergei Shnurov . Known, in particular, for eccentric songs with a lot of obscenities and alcohol-domestic themes. The group uses in its work an extensive composition of wind instruments: trumpet , saxophone , trombone , tuba . Also, the group sometimes expands due to saxhorns .
On December 25, 2008, the band's breakup was announced. August 9, 2010 , with the announcement of two November concerts in Moscow, the revival of the group began; in March 2019, it was announced that the band's stadium tour in 2019 would be their last. On January 3, 2020, it was announced that the band would reunite for two performances at the Coachella Festival, scheduled to take place in April 2020 in California, USA .
