Lev Berg (born Lev Simonovich Berg on 2nd March 1876 in Bender, Moldova) was a biologist, geographer, explorer, and ichthyologist. Berg held citizenship in the Russian Empire and later in the Soviet Union. He completed his education at Moscow State University, also known as Imperial Moscow University. Vasily Dokuchaev served as his doctoral advisor during his studies.
Berg had a child named Raissa L. Berg. He passed away on 24th December 1950 in Saint Petersburg.
