Liz Wessel is the cofounder and former Ceo of WayUp. She is an angel investor that has invested in about forty startups through angel checks and Scout checks, including ScaleAI, Ramp, Ro, Snackpass, and WELL Health. Wessel holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), where she studied Political Science, Math and Japanese.
Wessel is a visiting group partner at Y Combinator (YC), a startup accelerator and investor, where she invests in and assists founders in building their companies. Before joining YC, Wessel was the cofounder and CEO of WayUp, a recruitment platform. After seven years, WayUp merged with Yello, another recruitment software platform.
Before WayUp, Wessel was a part of the Associate Product Marketing Manager (APMM) program at Google, where she worked in the product and brand marketing sector initially in Mountain View, then for about one year in India. Wessel worked on a Get Out the Vote campaign in India, as well as the Google Search App, the Year in Search video, and others.
