American abolitionist and suffragist
Lucy Stone was born on August 13, 1818, in West Brookfield, Massachusetts and died in Boston on October 19, 1893. She held citizenship in the United States and was educated at Oberlin College. During her lifetime, Stone had two main occupations: she worked as a journalist and was also a suffragette. Stone was the founder of the Woman's Journal, and her daughter was Alice Stone Blackwell.
