On June 6, 2017 Lux Research was acquired by Bregal Sagemount in a transaction that was lead by Daniel Kim, Pavan Tripathi, and Jaskaran Heir. The details of the acquisition were not publicly disclosed. The CEO of Lux Research, Mike Coyne, made the following public statement regarding the acquisition of his company by Bregal Sagemount:
