Lviv District Council is one of the seven newly formed district councils of Lviv region. Created on July 17, 2020.
To the composition of Lviv district, Within The Framework of Administrative and Territorial Reform in Ukraine, includes 23 territorial communities.
Lviv District Council is body of self-government of the population, which included 5 districts (Zhovkva district, Peremyshlyany district, Pustomyty district, Horodok district, Kamyanka-Buz district)
After the elections, 64 deputies were elected to the newly created district council.

The district is the largest of the seven newly created districts within the Lviv region, so it borders: in the north - with Chervonohrad district, in the east - with Zolochiv district, southwest - with Sambir district, in the west - with Yavoriv district, in the south - with Stryj and Drohobych districts of Lviv region, in the south-east - with Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, in the north-west - with the Lublin Voivodeship of the Republic of Poland.
Bringing together a large population, the district is developing international cooperation with partner districts in Poland and Germany.
The existence of the district without attributes is impossible, so in the spring of 2021 the deputy corps, using the powers of the legislation of Ukraine, approved the emblem and flag of the Lviv district. The historical elements of the territory were taken as a basis.
