Mac Van Valkenburg (born May 10, 1921, died March 19, 1997) was an American engineer and writer. He held citizenship in the United States and died in Orem, Utah. Van Valkenburg received his education from several reputable institutions, including Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Utah.
Throughout his career, Van Valkenburg was a mentor and advisor to numerous graduate students who went on to achieve success in their respective fields. Some of his notable doctoral students include King-Sun Fu, Jose B. Cruz Jr., Leon O. Chua, S. L. Hakimi, Robert Tienwen Chien, and Stephen Yau.
His own doctoral advisor was Oswald Garrison Villard Jr., a respected figure in the academic world. Throughout his life, Mac Van Valkenburg made significant contributions to engineering and writing, leaving a lasting legacy in both fields.
