Japanese filmmaker, television director, and writer
Mamoru Oshii (おしい まもる) is a Japanese director, playwright, writer, screenwriter, animator, mangaka, television director, film director, and novelist. He was born on August 8, 1951, in Tokyo, Japan, and is best known for his work on the animated film "Ghost in the Shell".
Oshii attended Tokyo Gakugei University, completing his education there. Over the years, he has contributed to various works in different capacities, including directing films like "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence", "Urusei Yatsura", "Mezame No Hakobune", "The Sky Crawlers", "Halo Legends", "Koukaku Kidoutai", "Innocence", and "Patlabor: The Movie".
