Marshall Warren Nirenberg

Marshall Warren Nirenberg was an American geneticist, chemist, and neuroscientist . He was born on April 10, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York , and held citizenship in the United States . Nirenberg was educated at the University of Michigan, the University of Florida, and the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts . He is noted for his work on the genetic code . In 1968, Nirenberg received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his contributions to the field .
