Masatoshi Koshiba

Masatoshi Koshiba (こしば まさとし) was a Japanese physicist and professor, born on September 19, 1926, in Toyohashi. He held citizenship in Japan. Koshiba was educated at the University of Tokyo, University of Rochester, and Meiji University. His doctoral advisor was Shin'ichirō Tomonaga, and one of his doctoral students was Takaaki Kajita.

Koshiba received the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work in the field. He passed away on November 12, 2020, in Tokyo.
