Matrix World is a decentralized open virtual world allowing users to interact with 3D applications simultaneously operating on various blockchains. It was founded by Matrix Labs, a group of blockchain enthusiasts. The world contains "Lands" that are issued as NFTs on blockchain networks like Ethereum and Flow. Matrix Lands can be traded and transferred through blockchain networks, and the owners control the creations on their Lands. The Lands can be connected to a sandbox in the Matrix Network with compute and storage resources.
The resources let landowners and creators to control the physical appearance, inner properties, and lifecycle logic of their Land's creations. Users can utilize 3D open-world features like creating 3D architectures, hosting virtual meetings, and showcasing digital assets like NFTs alongside other features like creating and hosting 3D decentralized applications (DApps) utilizing Matrix's built-in creator services and computational resources.
On March 7, 2022, Matrix World announced a partnership with RSS3 to bring “The feed of Web3” to their platform. RSS3 is an open information syndication protocol supporting decentralized information distribution in Web3. The partnership will offer the users of Matrix World a way to access their social feeds when inside the Metaverse.
