Maurice Anthony Biot (1905-1985) was a Belgian-born mathematician, physicist, and scientist who was a citizen of Belgium. He was born in Antwerp on May 25, 1905 and died in New York City on September 12, 1985. Biot was educated at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). His doctoral advisor at Caltech was Hungarian-American mathematician and aerospace engineer Theodore von Kármán.
