Max Ophüls

Max Ophüls (born Maximillian Oppenheimer) was a film director, screenwriter, and theatre director. He was born on 6th May 1902 in Saarbrücken. Ophüls held citizenships in both France and Germany, and his nationality was French and German. He passed away on 25th March 1957 in Hamburg.

Throughout his career, Max Ophüls directed highly regarded films, such as The Company's in Love, Everybody's Woman, The Trouble With Money, The Tender Enemy, Lola Montès, The Novel of Werther, There's No Tomorrow, Letter from an Unknown Woman, The Reckless Moment, La Ronde, Le Plaisir, The Earrings of Madame de…, and Lola Montes.

Ophüls had a child, Marcel Ophüls, who became a notable person as well.
