Men in Blazers Media Network, a prominent voice in U.S. soccer media, has successfully completed a $15 million Series A funding round.
This infusion of capital is strategically timed as the United States, Canada, and Mexico prepare to host the 2026 Men's World Cup. The funding will enable Men in Blazers to expand its programming, both in short-form and long-form content, to meet the growing demand for soccer coverage across diverse demographics in the U.S.
He added that the mission is to create premium content that tells compelling stories about both men's and women's football, reaching the expansive and diverse American soccer fanbase.
Marc Lasry expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting, "Men in Blazers has built an incredible passionate community and deep relationships with brand partners over the last 14 years, becoming the most trusted messengers in soccer in the United States." He highlighted Avenue Sports' excitement to support the growth of Men in Blazers as they continue to innovate and meet the demands of millions of soccer fans nationwide.
The new funding will also support the growth of Men in Blazers' existing live events platforms and the expansion of its women's soccer vertical, "The Women's Game," led by Editor-in-Chief Sam Mewis, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Lynn Williams. Additionally, the network plans to launch a new Hispanic content platform, Vamos, spearheaded by former USMNT player Herculez Gomez, to broaden its reach across the diverse American soccer landscape.
Founded in 2010, Men in Blazers has evolved from a single podcast-turned-television show into a comprehensive media network covering men's and women's soccer, domestic leagues, and international tournaments. The network produces original content across podcasting, digital platforms, television, and live events, featuring top soccer voices such as USWNT legends Sam Mewis, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Lynn Williams; global soccer newsbreaker Fabrizio Romano; USMNT Captain Tyler Adams; Brendan Hunt, known for his role as Coach Beard on the Apple TV+ series "Ted Lasso"; and former soccer player and commentator Herculez Gomez.
Inner Circle Sports LLC, a boutique investment bank focused on the global sports and media industry, served as the financial advisor to Men in Blazers for this transaction.
