Michael Curtiz

Michael Curtiz, born Manó Kertész Kaminer on December 24, 1886, was a film director, screenwriter, and film producer. He was born in Budapest, and held citizenship in Hungary, Austria-Hungary, and the United States.

Curtiz directed various films, such as Little Big Shot, Young Man with a Horn, Mission to Moscow, The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex, The Sea Wolf, The Helen Morgan Story, King Creole, A Breath of Scandal, and Four's a Crowd. In addition, he was a member of the board of directors for the movie Casablanca.

Curtiz won the Academy Award for Best Director and had Hungarian nationality. He passed away on April 10, 1962, in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles.
