MICHAEL IRONSIDE
He was born on February 12, 1950, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to a large working-class family.
His mother had 16 brothers and sisters, and almost all of them, along with their families, lived on the same street.
Michael graduated from the Ontario College of the Arts in Toronto, Canada, where he made his debut - as an actor, writer and director of his first film, Down Where the Lights Shine. Then Ironside worked on Canadian television and in film.
The actor came to the attention of the general public after David Cronenberg's sci-fi thriller Scanners, where Ironside was also a producer. Ironside subsequently worked with John Schlesinger ("The Falcon and the Snowman"), Walter Hill ("With Maximum Caution"), and with Paul Verhoeven starred in the sci-fi film "Remembering Everything."
Usually the actor got the role of not the good guys, most often they were soldiers or policemen.
