Israeli computer scientist
Michael O. Rabin (born September 1, 1931) is an Israeli computer scientist and mathematician. He was born in Wrocław, Poland and holds Israeli citizenship. Rabin is currently based in the United States.
Rabin received his education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Princeton University, and the Hebrew Reali School. He was under the guidance of renowned mathematician and logician Alonzo Church as his doctoral advisor.
Throughout his career, Rabin has supervised various doctoral students including Saharon Shelah, Moshé Machover, and Christopher Thorpe.
In recognition of his contributions to computer science and mathematics, Rabin was awarded the prestigious Turing Award in 1976.
