Michelle Wie

Michelle Wie, officially known as Michelle Sung Wie West and Korean name Wie Sung-Mi, was born on October 11, 1989, in Honolulu County, Hawaii. She is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour and is a resident of Stanford, California. Wie holds United States nationality and citizenship.

Wie was educated at Punahou School and later Stanford University. Her father, Byung-wook Wie, and mother, Bo, raised her. Michelle Wie is married to Jonnie West, with whom she has a child named Makenna Kamalei Yoona West.

Nicknamed "Big Wiesy," Michelle Wie has received numerous awards, including the Laureus World Newcomer of the Year in 2004 and the Rolex Annika Major Award in 2014. Currently, she resides in San Francisco.
