Mickey Rourke, born Philip Andre Rourke Jr. on September 16, 1952, is an actor, screenwriter, character actor, model, film producer, and former boxer from the United States. Rourke was born in Schenectady, New York and attended Miami Beach Senior High School and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
He is known for his roles in films such as "Barfly," "Angel Heart," "Year of the Dragon," "9½ Weeks," "Iron Man 2," "Sin City," "Body Heat," "The Pope of Greenwich Village," "Rumble Fish," and "The Wrestler". In 2005, he portrayed the character Marv in "Sin City".
Throughout his career, Rourke has received numerous awards, including a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Film Independent Spirit Award, and multiple critics association awards.
