Microsoft Lists is a software product part of the Microsoft 365 application suite for creating, sharing, and tracking lists for individuals and teams that was launched on September 3, 2020. Microsoft first disclosed Microsoft Lists on July 28, 2020 at Build 2020 where the company announced the product will be available in a web and mobile based application, have team chat channels, team list synchronization, list templates, custom list views, and list rules. Notable customers using Microsoft Lists include: Nascar, Avanade, M&S, Tacoma Public Schools, The Jim Henson Company, and the Labor Management Compliance Council (LMCC).
Microsoft Lists offers users several templates designed to help them quickly create their lists for a specific purpose. Examples of Microsoft List templates include: an onboarding checklist for managing new employee onboarding, an asset manager template for tracking physical assets within teams, an issue tracker for managing and prioritizing business issues, and an event itinerary template for organizing and planning events.
