Mikhail Kalinin (birth name Mikhail Ivanovich Kalinin) was born on November 7, 1875, in Tver Oblast, which was then part of the Russian Empire. He was a politician and teacher, as well as a revolutionary. Kalinin held citizenship in both the Russian Empire and later, the Soviet Union. He passed away on June 3, 1946, in Moscow.
During his lifetime, Kalinin received several awards such as Hero of Socialist Labor, Order of Lenin, Order of the Red Banner, and Medal "For the Defense of Moscow".
