NANOGAP is a company that provides manufacturing services for biotechnology and nanotechnology products and materials. The company was founded by Tatiana Lopez in 2006, in A Coruna, Galicia, Spain.
The company has developed a platform that is capable of producing novel nanomaterials and nanoparticles, nanofibers, and more. The nanoparticles that NANOGAP is able to create can be between five and fifty nanometers in size. They are also able to produce Charge Transfer Clusters and Charge Transfer Cluster Nanosomes.
Their platform is based on wet chemistry and is leveraged on Atomic Quantum Clusters, which are sub-nanometer particles that can be molecules composed of a few atoms. The platform allows for particles and molecules to have unique shapes, sizes, and properties.
Materials that are catalytic, conductive, antimicrobial, and luminescent are all offered by NANOGAP, along with custom products that require development. Their catalytic materials are developed for heterogeneous, homogeneous, and electro-chemical catalysis systems.
The conductive materials that are produced from the Atomic Quantum Cluster base include Silver NanoParticles which have properties that allow for high conductivity, low temperature sintering, and stability over long periods of time.
Antimicrobial materials that NANOGAP offers can be incorporated into other coatings in order to provide long-lasting antimicrobial protection. The material is made from silver atomic quantum clusters that range from five to fifteen atoms in size.
The luminescent materials that NANOGAP creates are made from similar AQCs as in their other products and materials. The metal atoms are small enough that they don't register any metallic properties. They are luminescent as they are AQCs within semiconducting materials where electronic transitions in the band gap. This technology is patented by NANOGAP.
