British comic songwriter
Neil James Innes (born December 9, 1944, in Danbury, Essex, England) was a musician, singer, and songwriter known for his work in the music industries. He was educated at Goldsmiths, University of London, Norwich University of the Arts, Thorpe St Andrew School, and Central School of Art and Design. Innes worked within various music genres, such as rock music, parody music, comedy rock, and parody.
In addition to being a musician and singer, Innes held several other professions in the entertainment field. He was a pianist, songwriter, comedian, composer, actor, and singer. Innes was the author of the song "Death Cab for Cutie".
Neil Innes passed away on December 29, 2019, in Montcuq-en-Quercy-Blanc, near Toulouse.
