Neil Peart

Neil Peart was a Canadian-American musician and writer born on September 12, 1952, in Hamilton, Ontario. He held citizenship in both Canada and the United States. Peart was well known for his work as a drummer, lyricist, composer, and songwriter, but he was also a record producer and writer. He was primarily associated with the genres of progressive rock and hard rock.

His birth name was Neil Ellwood Peart and he was educated at Beamsville District Secondary School. Throughout his career, Peart made significant contributions to his fields of expertise, earning him national recognition in Canada. He passed away on January 7, 2020, in Santa Monica, California.
