The Neva River flows through the Leningrad Region and St. Petersburg and connects Lake Ladoga with the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea. The Neva is the only river that flows from Lake Ladoga. Water in it is fresh.

On the banks of the Neva are located four cities: St. Petersburg, Schlisselburg, Kirovsk, Otradnoye and a few dozen other settlements. The Neva is a wide and deep river.

The river is 74 km long, basin area - 281 thousand km².
