New Sapience is a company that has a focus on giving machines human knowledge. The company was founded in 2012 by William Bandy, Bryant Cruse, and Sean Reineke, in Baltimore, Maryland, United States.
The company develops modeled intelligence that allows the company to give machines computational knowledge similar to human knowledge in a computer program. The software is a web-based platform designed to be implemented into any new or existing artificial intelligence applications to assist them in learning new concepts similarly to how a human would.
The intelligence is referred to as machine knowledge, and is capable of containing and processing compact models of the world. Machine knowledge provides more than machine learning, it adds explainable results, logic, and comprehension of the human language. New Sapience's machine knowledge is a path towards artificial general intelligence, as it allows artificially intelligent voiced-based interfaces to comprehend words users say to them. This is the first technology of its kind that can enable voice-based interfaces to fully understand what people say, and how they mean it based on how it learns how each individual user speaks.
