Detective, leader of the SPK team (Secret Provision for Kira). Like L Lowlight, he has lived in the Vammy Orphanage in England since childhood. Calm and calculating, constantly playing with toys and pulling the ends of his hair. Also known as Niacin (Japanese - ニア, English - Near).

He was chosen as a candidate for the role of L's successor and four years after his death headed the SPK organization to catch and punish Kira. Thanks to Mello, he was able to pin down Light Yagami and prove his guilt, after which he became the third "L".
