Nickel

Nickel (chemical symbol - Ni, from Lat. Niccolum) is a chemical element of the 10th group (according to the outdated classification - the eighth group of the secondary subgroup, VIIIB), the fourth period of the periodic system of chemical elements of D. I. Mendeleev, with atomic number 28.

A simple substance nickel is a ductile, malleable, transition metal of silver-white color. At normal temperatures in the air, it is covered with a thin film of oxide. Chemically inactive.
