Russian writer
Nikolay Gumilyov (1886-1921) was a Russian poet, writer, officer (armed forces), Africanist, explorer, and translator. He was born in Kronstadt, Russian Empire and held citizenship in both the Russian Empire and the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. Gumilyov was educated at the University of Paris and passed away in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
He was known for his work in multiple genres, including prose, narrative poetry, verse (poetry), and playwriting (theatre). Under the pseudonym Анатолий Грант (Anatoliy Grant), Gumilyov wrote various literary works.
Nikolay Gumilyov was the father of Lev Gumilyov, a notable Soviet historian and ethnologist.
