Nikolay Kostomarov

Nikolay Kostomarov was a poet, historian, writer, and critic born on May 4, 1817, in Ukraine . He held citizenship in the Russian Empire and identified as a Ukrainian national . Kostomarov was educated at the Karazin Kharkiv National University .

During his career, Kostomarov founded the Brotherhood of Saints Cyril and Methodius . He also adopted the pseudonym Иеремия Галка . One of his notable doctoral students was Dmytro Yavornytsky .

Nikolay Kostomarov passed away on April 7, 1885, in Saint Petersburg .
