NoTraffic is a developer of an autonomous traffic management platform. The platform is designed to reduce traffic congestion using artificial intelligence and sensor arrays to detect and classify traffic through the fusion of machine vision and radar. This can help users identify, categorize, and predict buses, cyclists, electric scooters, and pedestrians to solve traffic challenges. Deploying the platform allows users to turn any traffic signal into a smart infrastructure capable of understanding a traffic picture and respond in real time to all road users, including detection and segmentation of bikes, cars, buses, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles.
NoTraffic was founded in 2017 by Tal Kreisler, Uriel Katz, and Or Sela and is headquartered in Tel Aviv. The company partners with the states of California, Texas, and Pennsylvania as well as companies at AT&T and Rogers Communications.
NoTraffic develops what the company calls a hardware platform, fusing video and radar and handling a variety of communication capabilities, including working over 4G and 5G mobile networks and other emerging protocols. This hardware can provide constant monitoring of intersections and offer insights and alerts for various issues, including stalled vehicles, accidents, and traffic jams. This hardware can be integrated into smart city initiatives to help officials make better decisions around dangerous intersections.
The hardware platform uses the NVIDIA Jetson platform and GPU-accelerated frameworks to combine machine vision and radar. The unit also integrates connected vehicle capabilities based on dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) and cellular vehicle-to-everything (CV2X) to provide communications between vehicles and infrastructure. This also allows the system to classify all road users while placing the sensor in an internet of things (IoT) environment, placing the hardware platform on the edge of a connected system.
As for software, NoTraffic offers a mobility operating system, which offers data streaming capabilities to give users real-time insights into traffic conditions or issues. The operating system also allows the total platform to autonomously reduce delay by optimizing traffic signals while being capable of implementation on both local intersection and city grid scales.
