NoWait was a PIttsburgh-based company with mobile software for restaurants that could be used by restaurant staff for organizational purposes and used by customers to manage their wait times at restaurants. It participated in the AlphaLab 06/01/10 cohort and raised an estimated $22,105,310. Later it exited with an estimated value of $40,000,000 when it was acquired by Yelp in March 2017.
The company's app was a wait list and seating tool that was used by over 4,000 restaurants that were in its network. It was generally used by casual dining restaurants, such as Chili's and Buffalo Wild Wings. Customers could use the app to add their name to a restaurant wait list before actually arriving at the restaurant. Other information that was available to customers included wait times and receiving a text to be alerted when their table was ready.
NoWait was utilized by restaurants to manage their wait lists as well as viewing data for table turnover times and analytics of that data. Restaurants needed to pay a monthly subscription ranging from $179 to $249, depending on the plan that was chosen.
