Node-H is a software company focused on radio access network (RAN) software, with a portfolio covering 5G, 4G, and 3G technologies for enterprise and public small cells. The software is designed for SoC small cells platforms that are cost-optimized and to help device manufacturers achieve fast time-to-market with a carrier-grade solution. Node-H provides small cell and self-organizing network solutions, licensing them to equipment OEMs, network operators, and service providers. Their solutions offer coverage for UMTS, LTE, and dual-mode technologies for residential, enterprise, and public small cell markets.
Node-H is headquartered in Munich, Germany. The company was founded in 2008 by CTO Wolfgang Scheit. The company has had partnerships with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Qualcomm, Askey, and T&W.
Node-H develops solutions with OEMs and ODMs to offer their solutions through operators or through a partner network of infrastructure vendors. This includes pre-made products, such as Band n78 enterprise 5G cells, or Band 7 or Band 3 4G cells, where their solutions are in hardware partner cells. The company also offers specialized products for companies, including customized software to support infrastructure elements like network gateways or management systems.
Node-H offers turnkey solutions, with their hardware partners, for common private networks in 4G and 5G. Private networks use lightly-licensed spectrums to allow enterprises to deploy networks with their equipment and to interwork with operator networks. These private networks tend to use small cells in the mid-band ranges in the bands of n78 or n77.
Node-H works with their technology partners, including Askey and T&W to develop 5G enterprise cells for use in 5G standalone public or private networks, and built to meet the cost requirements for widescale deployment of small cells.
Node-H offers a 4G enterprise small cell built with technology partner T&W and based on Qualcomm FSM9016 to provide coverage for up to 32 active users and to support VoLTE, CSFB, and fast return to 4G.
Node-H also offers a dual-mode enterprise small cell to provide both 3G and 4G coverage for up to 32 active 3G calls and 32 4G users. It can be integrated with various network equipment for various ecosystem vendors. And when no 3G is required, the service can be aggregated to 4G coverage to allow for 64 4G users.
Node-H offers carrier-grade 5G RAN software for micro-cells, pico-cells, and other classes of small cells, such as enterprise, residential, standalone, and virtualized. The software is capable of running on Intel or ARM hardware and interfaces to the SCF FAPI, supporting up to 100MHz bandwidth in sub-6 GHz and up to 400MHz bandwidth in mmWave. It can support up to 256 users.
Node-H offers 4G LTE software for use in live deployments and is interoperable with most network vendor gateways. The software, which is offered in combination with Qualcomm FAPI release and board support package, is intended to provide a complete solution for an LTE enterprise or residential small cell, including solutions for radio resource management, self-organizing networks, interference management, and coordination, and connects to the evolved packet core through standardized S1 or S1-flex interfaces.
Node-H also offers software for small cells for 3G deployments, which is developed to offer a complete solution for enterprise or residential small cells and in partnership with Qualcomm. The software is designed to support customers making product variants, such as PPPoE, PoE, Powerline, ADSL, WiFi, or gpon. The solution includes the following radio resource management and self-organizing network software:
- Access control
- Congestion control and dynamic RAB management
- Channel-type switching
- Quality of service
- Code allocation management
- Power control
- Interference mitigation
- Radio parameter auto-configuration
