Norman Taurog (1899-1981) was an American film director, actor, and screenwriter from Chicago. He held citizenship in the United States and passed away in Rancho Mirage, California. Taurog is best known for his work as a film director, and he received an Academy Award for Best Director.
Throughout his career, Taurog directed numerous films. Some of his notable works include Boys Town, Blue Hawaii, Broadway Melody of 1940, G.I. Blues, The Toast of New Orleans, Girls! Girls! Girls, It Happened at the World's Fair, Tickle Me, Live a Little, Love a Little, and Words and Music. Furthermore, Taurog directed other films such as Little Nellie Kelly, The Big Broadcast of 1936, Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine, The Caddy, Don't Give Up the Ship, and Presenting Lily Mars.
