NovoEd is a collaborative learning platform allowing organizations to design and deliver entrepreneurial and business cloud-based learning. The platform develops teach programs offering practice, application, coaching, mentorship and group collaboration. Through NovoEd, corporations can train employees, partners, customers and students. The system is designed to help students improve their group learning skills, like team management, their ability to negotiate, their understanding of a role in a team, leadership skills, and communication skills.
Launched originally as Venture Lab, NovoEd rebranded to its present name in 2013. Students view lecture videos on the platform as individuals, but students can also collaborate in small teams and submit assignments with classmates.
Investors include Costanoa Venture Capital and Stanford University. NovoEd customers use the platform to create and host a mix of paid and free courses in a variety of topics, such as entrepreneurship, finance, business strategy, design & creativity, and humanities. In the beginning, NovoEd mainly offered courses from Stanford University but has now evolved to become a program delivery platform. Some of Novoed’s customers include, Comcast, IDEO, Nestle and Unilever.
In 2018, Devonshire Investors acquired NovoEd to help grow NovoEd in the corporate and executive education markets. These growth initiatives include investment in product innovation, talent acquisition and expansion of customer support and services.
