Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is a Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. Founded in September 1987 with the objectives of operating nuclear power plantsnuclear power plants and implementing nuclear power projects for generation of electricity. NPCIL also has equity in Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited (BHAVINI), another public sector unit of the Indian Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) which implements Fast Breeder Reactors program in the country.
