Biography

"OU74". - A Russian underground rap group. Formed in 2010 in Chelyabinsk by the merger of two groups "TAJ MAHAL" and "PRIO". Variants of why the team got such a name, a lot. On forums there are the most unexpected transcriptions. For example, "The Association of Unique, 7" or "Very respectable family of Chelyabinsk. But most likely it is about the numerical designation of the city. The code of Chelyabinsk is 74. And the letters OU are deciphered as "region of the Urals.

In any case, the musicians of the group are unique and original personalities. It's true that the members often change, but that doesn't stop the guys from making high quality rap music. The guys read real street rap, without melodic choruses and pleasant to the ear female vocals. It's all tough and "boyish".

Composition

The group was formed after the Seventh official Battle at hip-hop.ru. The guys dropped out in the sixth round but realized that, despite the loss, together they can create something interesting and "strong" in the rap world. Joined the two groups "TAJ MAHAL" and "PRIO", also joined them two MCs. Thus, the first lineup consisted of Pastor Napas, Monky Monk, Fast, Lesha Prio (LP), Polk Room (PLKMNT), and Plastik and Chili. The guys preferred real names to pseudonyms, even on social networks they maintain their "legends".

The frontman of the group is Pastor Napas, his rapping is clear and tough, as if he is "hammering" the phrases into the audience. Lesha Prio read a relaxed rap, without pressure. Plastic was responsible for the quality beat.

Soon Chili left the group, he moved to live in America. In his place came Sasha Kazyan, who immediately fit into the group. That's how guys created their own label, Tankograd Underground. This name is not by accident. Tankograd was the unofficial name of Chelyabinsk, which the city received at the beginning of the war. In 33 days the tank construction was established, more than 18 thousand combat vehicles rolled off the Chelyabinsk assembly line.

In 2014, Lesha Prio and Plastik left the group. Now the guys are solo beatmakers - they have achieved a lot of success in creating beats in the rap and hip-hop industry. Later, rapper DOTY3 joined the collective.

Often "OU74" is compared to "Triagrutrics", sometimes even these collectives are confused. The fact that this group was also created in Chelyabinsk, though long before "OU74". These are two completely different teams. The only thing that connects these collectives is that Monk a few years ago played in their structure under the pseudonym MS Podyezd.

Music

Having created their own label, the band records their first album "Vtsvet". Half a year later the guys were invited to perform in St. Petersburg. It was their first concert outside of Chelyabinsk. So they manage to expand their creative horizons. In the fall of 2011 they record the second album "7 days", it included seven tracks, and it was very different from the first album.

The tracklist is biblical themes, a kind of seven days of creation. Seven band members are seven revealed themes. But criticism and misunderstanding came down on the guys. In spite of this fact, the group was already "on the wave" and began touring in Russia and near abroad. In the same year the guys released their first clip - "On the Wire".

A year later the album "Inevitable" was released. It consisted of 26 tracks, including works with Guf, TrikoPushon and fellow countrymen from "Triagrutriki". This album was so successful that with its help "OU74" wrote itself into the history of Russian rap. That same year the guys made a music video for the track "Shadow of Knowledge".

In 2013, the band released two albums at once, "Zazapis. Vol. 1" and "ZaZapis. Volume 2." In the same year the music videos "Eight Immortals" and "Krim" together with Brick Bazuka are released.

In 2015, the rappers release an album called "Dirty Free." In 2016 they recorded a mini-album "Deconstruction" together with the talented and young musician Quok. It included only three tracks. In the same year the album "Dirty Trip" is released.

As a result, the guys are gaining such momentum that their rap machine, or rather, even a tank, is hard to stop.

In 2016, the guys decided to record everything that they had been putting off for a long time. By the way, the album was called "The Long Box". As the participants themselves say, they dug through the archives of 2011-2013 and selected the most worthwhile of the postponed. It included songs: "Special Unparalleled", "Jungle", "Long Winters" and others. The band's fans were extremely surprised that the guys had been "hiding" such cool tracks for so long.

The band "OU74" is constantly touring Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The group has its own "Instagram" and a group on "VKontakte". In addition, each member has a personal "Instagram", the guys actively use social networking sites and share photos from concerts.

The band has its own symbols, encrypting the name of the group. This is a kind of "flaming" flower with four petals. The symbols are used for commercial purposes. The label makes and sells fashionable clothes and accessories.
