Oak Essentials, a natural skincare brand founded by Jenni Kayne, has secured its first growth investment from Silas Capital and Unilever Ventures. This marks an important milestone for the brand as it continues to expand its retail presence, product development, and marketing efforts. Financial details of the investment have not been disclosed.
Founded in 2021, Oak Essentials offers a line of 26 skincare and body care products, focusing on natural, botanical ingredients. Some of its flagship products, like the Moisture Rich Balm and Dew Body Oil, have gained significant popularity, being sold at retailers like Nordstrom and Shopbop. The investment will allow the brand to strengthen its distribution channels, expand into new retail partnerships, and introduce innovative products, with a focus on sustainability.
Lauren Harris, CEO of Oak Essentials, emphasized that the investment will drive the brand's growth while maintaining its commitment to product innovation and sustainability. Harris also plans to bolster wholesale partnerships and expand beyond the brand’s direct-to-consumer model.
Both Silas Capital and Unilever Ventures have a history of backing successful beauty brands. Silas Capital has previously invested in names like Ilia and Roz, while Unilever Ventures has supported brands such as Gallinée and Grown Alchemist, both of which were later acquired by major beauty conglomerates.
