Bear Drops is an experimental collection of NFT numismatic gold coins. They are gifted to Okay Bears holders in celebration of major milestones and occasions. BEAR DROP 1 is the founders coin. There are 10,000 Founders Coins celebrating the community. Royalties received on Founders Coins sales will be donated to Okay Cares, the charity created by Okay Bears, in support of causes that are voted for by the community.
Each Bear Drop possesses an attributed weight, the value of which matches that of gold. The redeemable gold weight is a minimum total of ten grams. Single coins under 10 grams can be exchanged for their equivalent gold value in SOL or USDC. Redemption will be made available in Q4, 2022. When a Bear Drop is redeemed for gold, the NFT is burned, and the supply reduces.
Okay Bears claims to possess the total amount of gold, stored in an undisclosed storage facility located underground in an Australian vault. The platform is exploring a limited run of physical gold coins with Bear Drop designs for coin holders. Details will be made available when the redemption goes live in Q4, 2022. There will be other Bear Drops with art, and they will vary in collection size and weight, depending on the milestone or occasion.
Coin holders will get limited access to The Park and occasional access to token-gated merch and events. IP is not granted on Founders Coins. Okay Bears holders will get their own graphic pack of their bears as part of the IP pack. Royalties on bear drops are to be scrapped. Royalties formerly collected from Founders Coins trading will be donated to a charity of the community's choice.
Coins are randomly distributed. Design attributes and gold values are not assigned in relation to the original Okay Bear NFT. Hence, the visual design and rarity of the coins are not related. Users are encouraged to connect their wallets to Magic Eden to see it as a verified collection.

Okay Cares is a charity created by Okay Bears that fundraises with NFTs.
In a collaboration with UNHCR, Okay Bears organized official channels to support emergency efforts. The partnership allowed for the provision of relief and core items, as well as ground shelter for the displaced families in Syria and Türkiye. Okay Bears raised both money and publicity.
Lisa Upton, Head of Communications, Australia for UNHCR said:
Australia for UNHCR is deeply grateful to the team at Okay Bears for supporting the UN Refugee Agency’s work in Syria and Turkiye following the devastating earthquakes there."

In collaboration with Movember, Okay Bears campaigned for men’s health and raised awareness in its community. Okay Bears created custom content for Movember that allowed Okay Bears holders to showcase their mustached bear and visibly share their support. The campaign supposedly resulted in about 100K extra Twitter impressions for Movember and an undisclosed amount of donations.
Dan Cooper, Movember's Director of Innovation, said:
“As a brand, Movember is continually striving to innovate and remain relevant with emerging technology and audiences, which was why working with Okay Bears was such an obvious collaboration. We have seen first-hand how quickly and passionately the Okay Bears community responds, and the positive impact this can have. The team behind the scenes are great to work with and I have a feeling they are just getting started.”

Okay Cares' initial charity project was in collaboration with HEIR and Chicago Bulls’ Lonzo Ball. Chicago Bulls player, Lonzo Ball, used his custom Okay Bear for charity, specifically for young players in his hometown neighborhood.
With Zo’s efforts and Okay Bears' community support, they refurbished a co-branded basketball court in the NBA stars’ hometown for local high schoolers. Lonzo’s community used HEIR’s platform to co-create the Zo Bear by voting on the NFT's design and artwork. The winning bid was 444.44 Sol in a twenty-four-hour auction. The auction funds were then used to refurbish two courts at Verbum Dei High School in Los Angeles.

Okay Bears and RED, the organization founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006 to fight AIDS and global health injustices, partnered to raise money to assist in the pandemic.
They partnered to release a limited-edition collection of Okay Bears-(RED) merchandise, like wristbands, hoodies, and t-shirts. An undisclosed portion of each sale will be given to Global Fund, a funder of global health. The merchandise will be available for purchase in the Okay Bears online store in May 2023. The organizations also hinted at an NFT announcement that is to be made later in 2023.
Peter Gould, Chief Communications Officer at Okay Bears, said:
“Okay Bears represents a culture shift in charitable fundraising, using NFTs for positive community impact and global change for good. Today’s announcement is another example of our commitment to this important work,” “We’re proud to collaborate with (RED) and build on our shared history of using merchandise and digital collectables to combat the most important human rights issues of our time.”
