OneRare

OneRare is the developer of what it calls the "foodverse" or an online metaverse for the food and beverage industry. The company's platform includes a tokenization layer that works to celebrate food in Web3 by creating an immersive and gamified experience for users around the food chain, including farms, farmer's markets, and more. OneRare's platform also allows users to claim dish non-fungible tokens (NFTs), including dishes from around the world; collaborate with celebrity chefs, restaurants, and food brands to develop NFTs; and collaborate with food partners for other Web3 projects and to create an NFT to real-life swap.

Founded in 2021 by Gaurav Gupta and Supreet Raju, OneRare is built on the concept of monetizing digital art by allowing users to create dishes as NFTs to create a Web3 platform for gaming and as a decentralized social media platform in the metaverse. The company is also working to raise funds through partnerships and the revenue raised from the game to combat world hunger.

The food metaverse developed by OneRare, called the "foodverse," is developed to offer opportunities for food collaboration by creating a food experience on the blockchain and by hosting celebrity chefs, virtual restaurants, food experiences, and a gaming zone to offer a platform for the global food industry to enter Web3.

The gaming zone is divided into four areas to allow players to engage in various food activities, including ways to earn, collect, and battle in the game. These four areas include the farm, where ingredient crops are grown; the farmer's market, where farmers sell the produce grown; the kitchen, where collectors can read recipes and combine ingredients to mint dishes; and the playground, where ingredients and dishes are used to battle in games.

The farm is where players can grow ingredients by staking the OneRare ORARE token. This is a play-to-earn area, where farmers can either own the land in the foodverse or use land to start farming produce. There are six different staking pools in different categories:

• Meat & Fish Co
• Sunshine Dairy
• Spice Village
• SuperMart
• The Good Grain

Each of these staking pools earn the users NFT ingredients as rewards; once ripe, these NFTs can be brought to the "kitchen" to create dishes or to the "farmer's market" to be sold to others for their dishes. The farm is also built to have environmental events similar to real life, such as droughts, excessive rain, tornadoes, global warming, and pest attacks.

At the farmer's market, players are able to either sell ingredients grown at a farm or sell the dish NFTs made in the kitchen. The players seeking to purchase ingredients can buy multiple copies of a single ingredient at a time, with ingredients prioritized in the sale per cost, or a lower cost ingredient will sell before a higher cost ingredient. Selling dishes is more straightforward, as the player can place their dish NFT up for sale and set their own prices. The market runs on the ORARE token.

The kitchen is where players can take ingredients, either those they have grown themselves or those purchased at the farmer's market, and build a dish. Each dish has a specific recipe, which includes a list of ingredients that are required to claim the dish. For example, for a french fries recipe, a player needs cooking oil, potato, and salt. Once these ingredients are collected, they can be combined in the kitchen, where the ingredient NFTs are utilized to cook the dish NFT. The dish NFT can then either be sold at the farmer's market or be used in the playground to participate in mini-games.

The playground is an interactive zone where players can battle in a series of games and use their dish NFTs. The playground includes a series of mini-games where users can participate with an ingredient or dish NFT to win other NFT rewards or ORARE tokens. The first two mini-games developed by OneRare were Hippo Full and Foodtruck Wars.

In Hippo Full, players play an NFT slot machine with an ingredient and get a chance to win a jackpot. The game includes a hippo that needs to be fed, and players can feed that hippo one ingredient at a time. The hippo, once full, will vomit out the reward of all ingredients it has eaten to the last wallet that fed the hippo.

In Foodtruck Wars, players can pit their dish NFTs against each other in a three-player mode, in which the objective is to earn the maximum money from customers visiting the food truck and beat the price of their competitors. The players will have to have at least two dish NFTs, and once ready to participate, they are randomly matched against two other players. Each round has a theme announced at the beginning of the round. The themes include a specific cuisine, a festival, a season, or a special occasion.

The ORARE token is the native currency of the OneRare foodverse, offering various utilities in the game ecosystem. Token holders have multiple opportunities to participate in the game, including staking ORARE tokens at the farm to earn ingredient NFTs as rewards. The more ORARE staked, the faster ingredients can grow and be used for transactions at the farmer's market, allowing players to buy and sell ingredients and dishes. ORARE can be used to play games in the playground, enter contests, and buy booster cards to enhance gameplay. Finally, the ORARE token can be used to participate in on-chain and off-chain governance.
