The Order of Alexander Nevsky is the Soviet award of the Great Patriotic War. Established by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on July 29, 1942 simultaneously with the Order of Suvorov and Kutuzov to award the Red Army command staff for outstanding achievements in the organization and management of combat operations and achieved as a result of these operations, successes in fighting for the country.
