Ottmar Mergenthaler

Ottmar Mergenthaler was born on May 11, 1854, in Bad Mergentheim . He held citizenship in both Germany and the United States . Mergenthaler was an inventor, and his most notable work was the development of the Linotype machine . He passed away in Baltimore on October 28, 1899 . In honor of his achievements, he was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1982 .
