Otto Hahn

Otto Hahn (1879-1968) was a German chemist known for his discovery of radioactive elements between 1905 and 1921. Born in Frankfurt, Hahn received his education at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Humboldt University of Berlin, and the University of Marburg.

Throughout his career, Hahn was a respected doctoral advisor, guiding numerous chemists such as Fritz Strassmann, Nikolaus Riehl, and Siegfried Flügge, among others. His own doctoral advisor was Theodor Zincke. Hahn's occupation was primarily that of a chemist.

Some of the notable awards he received include the 1944 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the Max Planck Medal. After a long and distinguished career, Otto Hahn passed away in Göttingen, Germany on July 28, 1968.
