Our solution to solving complex problems in a rapidly changing environment is leveraging disruptive dual-use technologies that can impact both the public and private sector. We will do this by running an International Defense Accelerator. Doing so ensures the technological edge of the US military and its allies, as the commercial market drives that market forward at the speed of relevance. Additionally, the Accelerator will increase collaboration and foster innovation in a virtual, cross-border environment. Startups participating in Techstars accelerators accomplish in 13 weeks what would normally take 1.5 years. It is mentorship driven -- Techstars surrounds the companies with seasoned mentors that help guide those companies to success. With access to quality mentorship, each startup gets the individual attention and advice it needs, networking opportunities, and introductions to potential partners, customers and investors. The Techstars International Defense Accelerator is designed and proven to help the DoD and its allies view future disruptive technologies through the lens of crowdsourced entrepreneurs, protect against surprise, defeat both current and future threats and enhance mission effectiveness. The Accelerator leverages startup companies, commercial entities, private investment and will provide a portfolio of options to the DoD.
